This is an illustration about Belgium. I don’t know why I have chosen this but it seemed that the foundation of Belgium is fairly recent and interesting.
Belgium became a country after the Belgian revolution that was recognized by the great powers of the time. The first conference about its independence happened in 1830 in Vienna. But it took another year until the new king according to the great powers had to be of Saxe-Coburg decent and dynasty. His inauguration happened on 21 July 1831 that is also celebrated as the day Belgium became what it is, Belgium!
I have been to Brussels but I would love to visit Bruges because I like old style preserved atmospheric towns with a medieval aspect.
Here it is I have made an illustration with all the stereotypical elements of Belgium. That’s why you’ d love Belgium anyway.
Frites, chocolates, stylish buildings, emblems. Sounds like a great idea for another trip!
